Who is Mandy?I am a communication skills trainer and personal life coach, passionate about making things happen, and helping other people to do the same.Recognising that our quality of life is inextricably linked to our ability to get along well with ourselves and other people, I focus my energy on helping to develop communication skills - within and between individuals. I have been a research and teaching biologist, a cabinetmaker, whitewater kayak instructor, trampoliner and belly dancer. I like to hike, ski, swim, sew, garden, scuba dive, bird watch and spend time with family and friends whenever I'm able. I grew up, studied and worked in southeastern Australia, and then worked in Israel and California before establishing a home base, with my husband, in Colorado. I enjoy the environments created by mountains and streams, but I also need regular exposure to Australian landscapes and culture to nurture my "Aussie" spirit. My psychologist mother, Anne Kotzman, and I have recently published The New Expanded Listen to Me, Listen to You 2007 through Penguin Australia (which will be released through Amazon.com in November 2008), and its companion volume, A Step-by-Step Guide to Communication Skills Training will soon be published by the Australian Centre for Educational Research. How we experience life depends a great deal on what we say - to ourselves and to other people. Yet aside from a lifetime of trial and error, most of us have little training in communicating effectively and often find our self surprised and confounded by the outcomes of our efforts. To help people improve their lives by improving their communication skills, I offer a variety of customised communication skills training programmes. According to my family, friends and colleagues, I am a natural teacher and have been 'coaching' informally for years. I recently pursued specific life coach training and certification, enabling me to confidently provide high quality professional coaching for my clients. I continue to refine and augment my coaching skills through ongoing training, and, as a member of the International Coach Federation, I am bound by its professional standards and code of ethics. I like to make things happen, and help others to do the same. I like to share - experiences, perspectives, skills, joy, laughter ... My formal qualifications include:
